Three species of Mangroves plants Brugriera fymnorrhiza (L.) Poil, Ageiceras coniculatum (L.) Blanco, Sonneratia apetala Buch-Ham, constructed wetland system was build up in the field. The effects for purifying of the domestic fresh wastewater and the growth of the mangroves in this freshwater artificial wetland system are studied. The main results were described as follows: In the process stage of low concentration, the removing rate was: BOD5 85%~95%, TP keeping to more than 60% and TN keeping to more than 50%. Except NO2--N, significant difference of the outcoming concentration cannot be found between the control and the three species of mangroves treatment groups. In the process stage of original concentration, the removing rate of BOD5 is high and steady, keeping more than 92%, and TP is keeping more than 50%, TN is keeping more than 35%. Except NO2--N and NO3--N, significant difference of the outcoming concentration cannot be found between the control and the three species of mangroves treatment groups. In the single cycle of the low concentration process stage, it can be found that the curvilinear trend of the five different concentration variation of water quality indexes BOD5, TP, TN, NH4+-N and NO3--N is obviously identical. And significant difference of the removing effects of these five indexes BOD5, TP, TN, NH4+-N and NO3--N can not be found between the control and the threespecies of mangroves treatment groups. The curvilinear trend of the concentration variation of water quality index NO2--N is complicated, but significant difference of the removing effects of the index NO2--N can not be found between the control and the three kinds of mangroves treatment groups. In the single cycle of the original concentration process stage, it can be found that the concentration variation of water quality indexes BOD5, TP, TN and NH4+-N is similar to the low concentration. And significant difference of the removing effects...
