Underground water ingress is very dangerous to the mine safety and the workers' lives. The main reasons why water bursting in collieries are that disclosing the faults that link with water in caving and producing. In order to prevent water bursting, using drain out water and remain coal pillars near the faults. It is effective but causes water resources' pollution and waste. At present there is no accurate formula for remaining coal pillars to forecast. So we should depend on our experiences to do. But it is easy to cause accidents for coal pillars destroy in the big fault.This paper introduced the technique of using cement purdah to prevent water burst firstly in the big colliery based on practice. Grouting in the around of infalling boundary and informing wall to prevent water based on clear knowning the condition of geology and hydrology. This method not only assure the safety of production but also protect the water resources around the colliery.Guojiazhuang colliery using this method changed the strain condition in the working face need by carry the project in ground and underground. So it prolonges the colliery' s service time and assures the normal production. With it the colliery got social and economic profits.
