Nowadays volatile organic compounds (VOC's) have been an important source of environmental pollution. Catalytic combustion is one of the effective methods to remove organic contaminate waste gases from air. In this thesis, we prepared two series of catalysts, In-Sn oxide composite and Cu-Ce-Zr oxide composite, for methane catalytic combustion. In this study, In-Sn oxide composite are prepared by coprecipitation method, the effects of concentration of precursor solution, different n(In3+)/n(Sn4+) and calcination temperature on catalytic activity for methane oxidation are consider. The results showed that the catalytic activities for methane were higher than the ordinary catalysts; There was little difference of catalytic activities between samples prepared from different concentration of precursor solution; The calcination temperature usually play an important part to methane combustion, the results shows 600 ℃ was the optimum calcinations temperature. TEM photograph of the highest activity S40 catalyst (In3+molar content: 40%) shows the particle shape is in spherical, the particle diameter is between 20nm to 30nm. In order to examine the adsorption amounts of oxygen and methane and the reducibility of oxygen; O2-TPD, CH4-TPD and H2-TPR studies are carried out, the special surface areas and crystal structure of the samples were characterized by BET and XRD. In addition the chemical state of In, Sn and O...
