Hydroxyapatite (HA) has excellent biocompatibility and bioactivity, and Ti and its alloys have their excellent mechanics properties and biocompatibility. The Ti/HA composite materials synthesized through introducing HA coatings onto Ti and its alloys metal implant surfaces have been hot-topic in recent years, not only having the good mechanics properties of Ti and its alloys but having the excellent biological properties of the HA.In this paper, biomimetic method was combined with self-assemble technique. EDTA was used to functionlize the Ti surface, and taking the functional Ti substrate as template, the uniform and dense CHA coating was deposited on the substrate. The technics of acid-alkali biomimetic method, EDTA self-assemble technique and the combination of biomimetic method and self-assemble technique were discussed through studying the changes of the coating masses, morphologies, phase constitutes, the microstructure and the rate of deposition and so on. And cell culture test in vitro was carried out to evaluate the biological properties of Ti/CHA composite coatings.The experiment results indicated that the special self-assemble technique by heat up and circumfluence is carried out to shorten the period of pre-treatment, and pre-deposition with Ca/P solution followed by immersion in 1.5SBF comes into use to shorten the period of inducement and growth of apatite. It makes the purpose come true that not only combine the biomimetic method and self-assemble technique but shorten the period of experiment of CHA coating deposition. And cell culture test in vitroindicated that the coatings possesse good biological properties.
