On the base of polyurethane resin as object of study, In order to produce a high quality the expand polyurethane flame-retardant Coating. At the same time, flame-retardant mechanism of the expand polyurethane flame-retardant Coating was analyzed and researched to develop wood material flame-retardant technology.The orthogonal experimental program is user mainly in this paper. The best directions for the expand polyurethane flame-retardant Coating is obtained firstly through observing the influence factors such as the amount of Carbon-forming agent .Foaming agent ,Catalyst, Retardant additive A ,Retardant additive B and burning weight loss, burning volume of residual char, Heat Release Rate, Oxygen. Index. The best craft parameter is : polyurethane (Isocyanate Component) 167 share, polyurethane (Hydroxyl Component) 167 share, pentaerythitol 27 share, carbamide 20 share, Dicyandiumide 20 share, Melamine 10 share, Boric acid 25 share, Diammonium hydrogen phosphate 72 share. In addition, the result of the orthogonal experiment is test and consummate by supplementary. Finally, adopt HRR3 Heat Release Rater system of Amerrican ATLAS Electric company and according to Airworthiness Approval Tag of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The samples treated by the expand polyurethand flame-retardant coating were measured to determine the fire-retardant property (Heat Release Rate. Oxygen index.) .Result of study indicate that the expand polyurethand flame-retardant coating have excellent fire-retardant property. It can decrease the rate of weight loss 15 percent and increase weight of residual char 13 percent during charring stage. Peak Heat Release Rate of 9mm plywood treated by fire-retardant coating are lower than those of untreated 9mm plywood about 95.65 kw/m2, and total Heat Release Amount in 2 minutes are lower than those of untreated 9mm plywood about 164.32 kw. min /m2 . At the same time, Oxygen index of 9mm plywood treated by fire- retardant coating are more high than those of untreated 9mm plywood About 29.
