With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the amount of solid wastes has a same increase year after year. At the same time, the land resource is also in short day by day. So how to deal with the solid wastes especially the municipal solid wastes have been brought into focus. Unprocessed and dealing with improperly MSW, will cause pollution to mankind's living environment. The combustion can realize the final goal of the processing of MSW, innoxious , volume reduction and recovery of energy. In the MSW, the bacterium, virus are eliminated completely after burning, Ammonia with stench and organic waste gas are resolved by the high temperature, at the same time the residue is small, heat energy can also be utilized again. So in developed country it is regarded as a main method of processing of solid wastes and used widely at present. In our country the application of MSW combustion technology is relatively late. It is of great significance to accelerate research and application of MSW combustion technology.In this paper combined with the characteristic of MSW combustion, detailed mathematical simulations have been carried out for the combustion of the local MSW in the incinerator that produced by manufacturer. The major research aspects are outlined as the following:1 At first, optimized the stove type of the incinerator. k—etwo parameters model was used for turbulence modeling, the better grate furnace was found through comparing mixing degree in the furnace.2 Physical and mathematical model were built, which are suitable for the municipal solid wastes in our country. the results with The mathematical model and measurement value are identical basically. The mathematical model reflects the characteristic of the whole combustion. So it offer the direction for studying the processing of municipal solid wastes further.3 Combine the instance, the main factors which influence the burring were find out through the numerical simulation. They are the high in the MSW bed, content of moisture of the MSW and excessive air coefficient. The operation condition of good combustion efficiency is found. So it also offers the Technology consulting for running actually.4 Do proper appraisal on the operation current situation of the incinerator at present, and put forward the further improvement suggestion.5 Through calculating the importance of second air to the MSW combustion is found. So the angle of inlet second air is optimized. Through altering the angle of left and right inlet second air, a condition which causes strong turbulence in incineration is put forward.6 With field synergetic theory the importance of second air is explained. It shows the mechanism that how the second air strengthened the heat transfer and combustion in the incinerator.
