Physical and chemical phenomena which is complicated in high temperature is involvedin continuous casting, and there have not been effectively means for testing in precision. So, the numerical simulation is supposed to be the best. Research on the behavior of theflow and heat transfer in the continuous casting mould by using mathematical mold playsan important role in the study of this field, which can offer basis in theory for control ofindustrial yield and mould design when the features of steel liquid flow and the distributionof the solidifying shell thickness are known. The phenomena of the fluid flow and heat transfer in square billet continuous castingwas primarily systematically analyzed, and then a mathematical model was presentedaccording to their features, which was solved using ANSYS. Finally the effects of eachprocessing parameters on liquid behaviors in mould were considered. The result showed that the features in the mould were exactly reflected by themathematical model represented, and it was effective that k ?εtwo equations weremodified, and the constant and boundary condition adjusted. At the same time, the basisthat studies the problem of metallurgy engineer on heat, force and flow using ANSYS wasdone. It's successfully simulation not only will save money which buys others software, but also user will not have to learn many different software due to the limitation of those.Aim at protecting moulding introduced by small square billet via columniform nozzle, therefore the condition was researched in this paper by means of simulation, which willhelp productivity with improving the casting speed. There was difference between differentkinds of submerged entry nozzle (SEN) and no using SEN. Because columniform nozzlecan impinge deeply, so inserting it into steel liquid should be not too deep, which the bestdepth is about 100mm. Other processing parameters such as the casting speed had alsogreat effect on the behaviors in continuous casting mould.
