A Theoretical Study On Eco-Socialism Environmental Crisis

Eco—socialism was a radical leftist thought, which emerged in the 1970s in western countries, it was the result of connecting modern western ecological movement and socialistic thought. It deeply thinks about the contemporary environmental crisis by analysing the contradiction between capitalism and ecological environment. This article will systematically analyse eco—socialism and will elaberatelly expound eco—socialism's environmental crisis theory. Eco—socialism insists on: Firstly, capitalism crisis is essentially the environmental crisis, which has replaced economic crisis and become the principal crisis. Secondly, In capitalism, The only purpose of producing is to pursue profit, which makes nature become the origination of profit and so the origination of environmental crisis. Thirdly, the way of resolving the environmental crisis problem is to thoroughly reform the capitalism and substitute capitalism for socialism, of course, this socialism means eco—socialism.Eco—socialism environmental crisis theory, from a special angle, puts forward a series of thoughtful particular opinions, which have important theoretical and practical significance, not only to solve our realistic environmental problems, but also to improve our environmental awareness and make effective environmental policies. But this theory also has theoretical defects, we can't say we have found a practical approach for resolving environmental crisis. By mastering this environmental crisis theory synthetically, we can abandon its defects, absorb its advantages and make it serve our environmental construction.
