A new preparative means of pillared montmorillonite by dried method has been achieved in this paper. First, organic pillared montmorillonite were prepared in which three kinds of organic quaternary ammonium salts were used as pillaring agent. Physiochemical properties of organic pillared montmorillonites were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TG-DTA. Furthermore their characters that have been testified are excellence. The preparation means of organic pillared montmorillonite was feasible.Second, inorganic pillared montmorillonite were prepared by used inorganic pillared agent. Inorganic pillared agent include 5A1Cl3·8Al(OH)3·37.5H2O, sulphate of polymeric cation of Keggin type [AlO4Al12(OH)24(H2O)12]7+(Al137+) which was catched by Na2SO4, K2SO4 and (NH4)2SO4, and polymeric aluminum cation of hydrochloric acid that obtained by added solvent of mixed ethanol and acetone into solution that its solubility was reduced. Physiochemical properties were charactered by XRD, specific surface and aperture structure measuring, TG-DTA and FT-IR. Experiment discovered that preparing inorganic pillared montmorillonite by 5AlCl3·8Al(OH)3·37.5H2O was facility and shortcut. We also discovered that polymeric cation of 5AlCl3·8Al(OH)3·37.5H2O was difference with cation of Keggin type (Al137+). It maybe be made up of thirteen octahedron of aluminum and oxygen. They were connected by sharing edge and formed three plane six-ring structures. It will become a new evidence of existent form of aluminous hydrolyze in solution.The application research also were done to remove fluoride in water by inorganic pillared montmorillonite of 5A1Cl3·8Al(OH)3·37.5H2O in the paper. The efficiency of remove fluoride of inorganic pillared montmorillonite was better than natural montmorillonite. It will be a kind of effective remove fluoride reagent in dealing with water.In this paper it proved that preparing inorganic and organic pillared montmorillonite by dried method were efficiency and feasibility. The synthetic efficiency was improved. It offered good theory guidance for the exploitation and utilization of montmorillonite and industrialization of pillared montmorillonite.
