Isoflavone has been proven to posses various biological and pharmacological activities such as antioxidation, anticancer, estrogenoid and antiestrogen, prevention of cardiovascular diseases and relief of menopausal syndrome. The aerial parts of Glycyrrhiza Ualensis have isoflavones.A process for extracting and purifying isoflavones and chromatophric compounds from the aerial parts of Glycyrrhiza Ualensis was studied. Seperated the isoflavones' compounds, preparated chromatophric compounds and designed industrialized flow chart based on the experiment.First, In the experiment of extraction of total isoflavones and chromatophric compounds, four factors were studied, temperature, extracting time, concentraction of solvent and amount of solvent. With the extraction efficiency as studied targets, the optium extraction conditions were as followed : sovent 90% ethanol, temperature 65℃ ,solvent volume to the weight of aerial parts of Glycyrrhiza Ualensis 8:1,extracting for 3 times,3h,lh,lh..The content of isoflavone was 1.2%,the yield was 14.5%.Second, two methods to separate the aerial parts of isoflavone and chromatophric compounds were compared. The results indicated that the macromolecular compounds is more useful than leaching method. Using HPD100 , columns width : length(1:4), the rate of weight (1 : 5), 50% ethanol and 90% ethanol as solvent can completely separate the isoflavone and chromatophric compounds.Third, Using silica gel ( 200-300 mesh ) is moer usegul than polyamide to purify isoflavones. 22% isoflavones were obtained, the yield was 38%,the total yield was 3%.Make use of chromatophric compounds .
