Deep and systematical researches had been done to the extraction and separation of flavonoids and glycyrrhiza acid from licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.), using ultrasonic technology as an extraction method, and chromatography as a purification method.1. Determined the content of flavonoids using ultraspectrophotometry; analysized the content of glycyrrhiza acid using HPLC.2. Optimized the solvent in ultrasonic combined extraction of flavonoids and glycyrrhiza acid from licorice {Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.).3. Studied the factors during ultrasonic extraction, and obtained the better process condition. The optimum conditions were as follows:Power of ultrasonic was 1000W Time of ultrasonic was 75(25,25,25) min Temperature 40℃ Solid/liquid ratios of 1:84. Studied with the silica gel chromatography the separation and purification of flavonoids and glycyrrhiza acid, and confirmed the conditions of separating. The yield of flavonoids was 1.14%, the content was 51.66%; the yield of glycyrrhiza acid was 1.51%, the content was 77.25%.This process made full use of the licorice resource: extraction and purification of flavonoids and glycyrrhiza acid were conducted in one process; the effective rate of utilization of the licorice was improved; and the comprehensive utilization of licorice resources was realized. These established the foundation for industry.
