In heavy oil exploitation, because of the characteristic of high-viscous, when the temperature achieves the inflection, the wax is precipitated and the fluidity of oil reduces, the normal production is hindered. So, many processes for viscosity breaking is applyed in heavy oil exploitation. Among them, the hollow pumping rod electrical heating obtained the more and more application for its some good characters, such as simple structure, heating uniformity, cheaper primary investment.In this paper, the hollow sucker rod has been designed and analysed, it includes three aspects.It designs the program of calculating hollow sucker rod with API RP 11L. Because the API RP 11L only suits the design of normal sucker rod, to design the hollow sucker rod, it is necessary to correct some parameters. In designing the sucker rod, correct the line density, elasticity coefficient, rigidity and so on. It chooses the vitta, the pump and sucker rod assemblage in reason from the dimensionless quality curve and sucker rod assemblage sheet.The centralizer spacing is the pivotal step. It should be appropriate, cannot too long, also cannot too short. According to the mechanical analysis to sucker rod, a mechanical model has been established, which considered the friction between coupler and vitta and the heavy oil's high-viscous. By using distortion energy principle, it infered the deflection equation between tow adjacent couplers and calculated the appropriate interval.In this paper, the temperature field in the well has been predicted by applying the finite differential method. The logical physical model and mathematical model has been presented. In the model, it think that the structure, temperature and physical property is symmetrical by the center core of hollow sucker rod and the power is constant. In calculation, the diamond shaped difference schema has been used to get the precision and stability. The calculation shows that the temperature of heavy oil throughout locates above the critical temperature. It is valuable to the analysis for heavy oil exploitation and choice of electric heating system.
