Point at the "raw material basic property & optimizing ore blending" research plan raised by Xiang Tan iron & steel Group Co., Ltcl., the physical and chemical characters and the sintering property of single sort of iron ores from both 25 kinds of local mines and 8 kinds of imported mines used by the company were studied by a laboratory test. Based on that, a series of classified experiments were conducted to study the regulations of the affects produced by the sinter bedding mix in sintering process according to the different classification principle such as producing area of mines, diameter class, sintering speed, SiO2 and iron content. The regulations provide a theoretical basis for mastering the sinter bedding mix quantity. Simulating the actual scene production, an ore blending experiment was carried on. The amount of the imported ore fines, the proportion of South African or Indian ore fines, the amount of iron ore concentrates, the proportion of Peru ore fines and the amount of DaBaoshan ore fines were selected as fine factors of a two times repressive and orthogonal test. The two times repressive equation as a result of the test can give a leading meaning to production.This experimental study can offer a theoretical and actual leading to the purchase of ore mines for Xiang Tan iron & steel Group Co., Ltd., and to the ore blending plans of a year and the production's buildup of Sinterplant of Xiang Tan iron & steel Group Co., Ltd., The research method adopted by us was very advanced, reasonable, economic and practical. The two regressive equation resulted from the scope of the test has a good estimate and can be used to the actual ore blending of the production for Xiang Tan iron & steel Group Co., Ltd., And all results of the experiment have attained the anticipant ones. So it is a successful item that a factory cooperated with an university to complete.It has broken throuph the localization of an experiment using sinple sort of iron ores. The purchase , deposited and use of iron raw material ofiron & steel plant was considered synthetically in order to provide a basic technique leading to the iron & steel plant to reply the raw material questions which are becoming complex day by day.
