Impression adjustment mechanism is one of key components of printing press, the work performance of which influences printing quality. The main task of this thesis is to design a new mechanism - following mechanism based on existing impression adjustment mechanism. The mechanism can avoid the blindness of manual-operation on blanket-plate cylinder (B-P) impression adjustment mechanism and can prevent cylinders from being deformed, when the adjustment of blanket-impression cylinder (B-I) printing pressure which has no influence on the B-P printing pressure happens. Domestic printing presses do not relate to the following mechanism. The design supplies a way of the new mechanism. Parametric design can improve the efficiency and the precision of mechanism design. It has a significant economic result.The main works are as following:(1) Complex vector triangle method is used to carry out the kinematics analysis of present B-I, B-P impression adjustment mechanism and following mechanism and to calculate the rotary angle of blanket cylinder external eccentric sleeve and the accurate value of synthesis of following mechanism and to make error analysis of following mechanism. The sensitive bar is selected in order to respond to the request when using and regulating.(2) The matrix method is used to synthesize the following mechanism, and the position and the transmission angle condition of the new designed machine are tested, so that it can satisfy the working conditions. The accurate value of following mechanism is worked out with homotopy continuation-Newton method for solving nonlinear equation, which can meet the strict demands on initial value of other iterative, effectively expand the range of initial value and solve the strange situation of the Jacobi matrix. It can give an effectual method for design and calculation.(3)Comparing the situation before with after using the following mechanism, it can be concluded that: After using the following mechanism, B-P printing pressure is almost not influenced when B-I printing pressure is adjusted within the range of printing pressure. The goal of designing is achieved.(4) Parametric design of the following mechanism is carried out, and it can be suited to the design of different offset press following mechanism. The interface of the software is friendly and the special software can improve the efficiency of the design availably. The design platform is offered for printing equipment factory.
