In this thesis, from the point of the development tendency and safe situation ofthe domestic and international high-density polyethylene (HDPE) production in recentyears, the necessity that carries out analysis and assessment of fire explosion risk forhigh-density polyethylene production has been investigated. And the risk analysis andassessment technique have been summarized.The production technology of high-density polyethylene has been introduced, thefire explosion hazard of the technology stock, solvent, catalyst and product have beenanalyzed, the possible fire explosion accident type in production process have beendiscussed, fault tree analysis ( FTA) method has been used to analyze the reason ofvarious type fire explosion accidents.The crucial reason for fire explosion accidenthas been determined through calculating the structural important degree of everybasic reason incident, which is the important reference of established precautionarymeasures.At the same time, the technology deviation and reason leading to out of controltype fire explosion accident of polymerization reaction have been discussed usingwith the method of hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP), and emergencycountermeasure has been put forward.Using the relatively well-known DOW's index fire explosion hazard method, fireexplosion risk assessment for the four units of solvent recovery, catalyst preparation,polymerization reaction and separation drying in the production process have beencarried out, and have determined the fire explosion hazard grade of each unit.Aiming at three kinds of important calamity accident, pool fire,vapourexplosion(VCE) and boiling liquid expanding vapour explosion (BLEVE) at hexanetank farm, we established mathematics model, computed the scope makes its injuryand loss using simulation assessment technique,, and put forward defend measure.
