The invention and application of computer is one of the significant scientificinventions of the 20th century. Numerical Control is considered as one of the mostdramatic and productive development in manufacturing in this century. It has beenmore than 50 years since the first NC milling machine had been manufactured inAmerica. Over the past decade, there has a dramatic progress in the NC technology. Alarge quantity of new machines with high speed, high accuracy are arisen. Under thebackground, the problem is existed to upgrade the machines manufactured severalyears ago.This subject is the upgrade of numerical control turning of a technical college.The theme is put forward to upgrade the numerical control turning machine of DirectCurrent servo drives. The main contents as follows:FANUC 0i-TB system , the αi series Alter-Current spindle and feeding servodrives is selected to replace the D.C. drives of old machine between several famousNC system.The PMC program of machine is coded according to the procedure. The PMCprogram of lubricating system and turret system is designed especially. The NC system with power station , auxiliary equipment , spindle unit, feedingservo unit and I/O interface are designed and debugged . The systematic parameter isestablished through MDI way.According to the standard, the geometry precision, orientation precision andcutting precision of machine are tested.The project extend to new function to old machine, which has higher economicbenefits and practical value.
