New legislation will require substantial reductions in the sulfur content of transportation fuels . The traditional hydrodesulfurization process (HDS) is highly efficient in removing thiols and sulfides, but it is less effective for thiophenes and thiophene derivatives. This is a challenge for traditional hydrodesulfurization process. Other nonhydrodesulfurization process is paid attention to .At present, oxidative desulfurization (ODS) was considered one of the promising processes for its mild reaction condition , no using hydrogen . Titalium silicalite is a solid catalyst with a good catalytic performance . Therefore, we do the research intending to solve the problems which.exist in the ODS process with titalium silicalite. The major content of the.paper is composed of two parts.一, The effect of gasoline composition on selective oxidation of thiopheneIn the present work , we studied thiophene selective oxidation over TS-1 using hydrogen peroxide in model gasoline with different composition . 1. n-octane and cyclohexane have no effect on removal of thiophene from model gasoline .2. Benzene also has no effect on final removal rate of thiophene , but has a little effect on initial removal of thiophene . Ethylbenzene has a bad effect on removal rate of thiophene .3.O1efin especial the diene will prevent the removal of thiophene.二, Catalytic performance of metal modified TS-1After modified with transitional metal ions, the catalyst's activity for thiophene oxidation in the presence of olefin is improved . 1. The Zn modified catalyst has not improve the selectivity of catalyst for thiophene in model gasoline containing octene .2.A little loaded Au on TS-1 will slightly enhance the selectivity of thiophene in model gasoline containing octene.3. The Ag modified TS-1 will enhance the selectivity of thiophene in model gasoline containing octene. Ag modified TS-1 shows better adsorption performance for thiophene than for n-octene .4. The Cu modified TS-1 will enhance the selectivity of thiophene in model gasoline containing octene too. The Cu modified catalyst performs better than the Ag modified one. The crystal size of TS-1 also influences the activity obviously. The catalyst with small crystal size exhibits better activity for thiophene oxidation because of the relatively shorter dispersion path.
