Semiconductor photo-catalysts have attracted considerable attention of the workers in environmental science due to their many significant advantages such as low consumption. mild reaction condition. simple operation and decrease of secondary pollution in photo-degradation of organic pollutants .When the semiconductor particles is illuminated by light having higher energy than its band gap energy ,an electron is excited from the conduction band to valence band to reduce the molecule absorbed on the surface of particles and the hole in valence band can act as an oxidant .TiO2 is the most promising green catalyst due to its higher photo-degradation ability in decomposing of the organic pollutants into CO2,H2O and some mineral acid as well as its many advantages (i, e, safety, low cost and no pollution)The degradation reaction was monitored at the absorption maximum (284nm) of the investigated pollutants by HPLC apparatus The eluent was a methanol/water mixture (70%/30%) at flow rate of 1.0ml/min sumpling volume:10ul The extent of mineralisation was determined through total organic carbon (TOC) analysis using a shimadzu TOC-Vcph analyer in the nonpurgeable organic carbon mode .The experiment was carried out in a magnetically stirred 500ml cylindrical quartz (Ф90×160 mm ) The initial 2 ,...
