Since its commercial production in 1959, atrazin has been widely used in the worldwide. And the groundwater was polluted seriously for the atrazine is inclined to leach into the deep soil or enter into the surface and ground water, the atrazine concentration of groundwater detected in some area reached as high as 2600μg·L-1.It was reported in the present studies that atrazine was an environmental estrin, it would work as hormones to human beings and wild animals, causing cancer or baffling reproduction function. The study showed that the exposure of low dose(0.1μg·L-1) atrazine would lead to the increase of female hormone secrtion in the body of male frog, destroy its endocrine system, bring about the feminization of male frog or male and female consubstantiality. The case was not only limit to frogs, but the fishes, it would also depress the endocrine function of trouts, inhibit the testis hormonal of nonage rats, endanger human beings health by food chain transfer. To study the method of pollution abatement will not only eliminate the pollution, insure the national environmental safety, promote the sustainable development of national social economy, but also improve the competitive power of national agricultural products in the international trade. The study on the rehabilitation of groundwater pollution in developed countries began from 1970s, the treatment methods included isolation, pump lifting, adsorption, chemistry fencing, electrochemical process and biological repair. Among them, the biological repair method had been used in the harnessing of groundwater pollution and been a clean and potential emerging technology for its low investment, better efficiency and convenience in use. However, the project had seldom been in practice because it may not activate the indigene microorganisms effectively, and the treatment effect would be not perfect.PRB technique is one of the effective methods for the in situ remediation of groundwater pollution, which was proposed and applied for patent by Waterloo University in Canada, the principle of which was that the pollutants were degraded, absorbed or settled by oxidation-reduction reaction, physics action and biological actions. The advantages included low cost,...
