The structures of all these compounds havebeen established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. This article represents asystematical examination of the structures of the organotin-cyanometalate based ontriorganotin, diorganotin and organooxotin cluster. In order to survey the influence of thenumber of CN groups on the structures of organotin-cyanometalate, nitroprusside[Na2Fe(CN)5NO·2H2O] containing five CN-groups was selected for study, and six novelorganotin-cyanometalate have been synthesized: [Ph3Sn]2[Fe(CN)5NO] (1)[Bz3Sn]2[Fe(CN)5NO] (Bz = C6H5CH2-) (2), [Bz2Sn][Fe(CN)5NO] (3),[(Bz3Sn)2CN]2[Fe(CN)5NO] (4), [Bz2SnOSn(MeO)Bz2]2[Fe(CN)5NO]·3CH2Cl2 (5) and[Bz2SnOSn(EtO)Bz2]2[Fe(CN)5NO]·3CH2Cl2 (6). Compounds (1)-(4) exhibit infinite 2D (4, 4)networks containing rectangular grids, while compounds (5) and (6) show a one-dimensionalpolymeric chain. The Lewis acid character of organotin can contribute to form adductions. Therefore, neutral coordination compounds are selected to react with organotin.[Ph3SnClCr(L)3]·[Ph3SnClMeOH] (7) (L=6-methylpyridine-2-carboxylate) is isolated in thesereactions. Compound 7 possesses discrete structure. In addition, compounds (1)-(7) are alsocharacterized by IR and elemental analyses.
