Because of the start of Mica pearlescent pigments industry in china is later.At present also it is at the primary stage. It exists many problems. For example, the pearlescent luster is faint, the color is not pure and the wetting performance and disperse capability is bad.Above question exists which based on the domestically produced Mica pearlescent pigments. This thesis only studied the preparation craft of coloring pearlescent pigment, including the coloration craft of coupling drug film method, the coloration craft of inorganic color lake film method. This thesis have studied the craft condition such as reaction temperature, pH, time, density, the dosage of stain and coloration assistant, in order to improve the quality of painted pearlescent pigment and to enhances its purity and the color degree of saturation. The coloring produce is characterized by means of XRD, IR.The result of the study shows: the saturation of products that is made by the coupling drug film method reach 32.30%, tone angle reach 237.3°; the saturation of products that is made by the inorganic color lake film method reach 31.29%, tone angle reach 234.6°; the saturation of products that is made by metal oxide film method reach 3.50%, tone angle reach 181.3°, the saturation of products that is made by rare earth doping metal oxide compound film method reach 6.91%, tone angle reach 219.8°. After adulterate the rare earth, the saturation of products improves by 3.41%, tone angle improves by38.5°.In order to appraise the coloring mica performance , the acidity-resistant, the alkali-resistance, heat- resistant, light- resistant, solvents- resistant and character of dispersed of three kinds products were mesured. The measuring result show: the acidity-resistant, the alkali-resistance, light- resistant, solvents-resistant and wettability of three kinds products is better. The maximum application temperature of the products that is made by the coupling drug film method reaches 300℃. The maximum application temperature of the produce that is made by the inorganic color lake film method reaches 250℃. The product that is made by rare earth doping metal oxide compound film method has the high temperature resisting quality. It may reach 1000℃ or is higher.The result of the study shows: the color of the coloring mica that is doped rare-earth element is purer, is brighter. Because the rare-earth element has many type and many doping way with the transition metal, so we can use it as stain or by doping way with the transition metal aspect to prepare coloring mica. It has the extremely broad research and the application prospect in this aspect.
