The process of biomass conversion can be divided as biochemical process and thermo-chemical method, the later method can be sub-divided into gasification, pyrolysis, liquefaction, etc. Thermo-chemical liquification of biomass was paid more attention as one of the new technology of developing and using biomass energy resource, which could yield more valuable liquid product than gasification.This research is a part of project subsidized by science and technology department of Jilin Province named as "The technology of pyrolysising biomass for bio-oil" (serial number: 20000320). We performed experimental research by pyrolysising biomass for bio-oil using the system of preparing bio-oil by pyrolysising biomass, which was developed by ourselves and fluidized bed reactor was chose as main body of the system.This paper introduced the character of biomass and its technology of application, and summed up the research situation current of preparing bio-oil by pyrolysis biomass in detail in china and abroad, introduced and analyzed by comparing the performance of several kinds of typical pyrolysis sets.The fast pyrolysis experiments were conducted adopting different sawdust as material and utilizing the system of preparing bio-oil by pyrolysising biomass, in this study ,the best bio-oil yield is 63.8% in weight; Based on research of the overall biomass pyrolysis experiments, obtained the influence rule of main parameter such as reaction temperature, biomass particle size and biomass feed rate ,etc. and analyzed the influence mechanism, which is the base of applying the technology of preparing bio-oil by pyrolysising biomass. The experiment results indicate that the higher temperature and longer residence time would reduce the yields of bio-oil and produce more gases which can't be curdled; and the lower temperature and heating rate favors the carbonization, which both reduce the liquid production. The maximum bio-oil yield of Pinus koraiensic, Pinus bungeana and Larix keampferi were 42.7%, 36.1% and 51.6% respectively. The maximum yield of Summerwood bio-oil was 63.8%,which was achieved at 500℃ and feed rate 20.14kg/h with a particle size 0.47~0.67mm. But from the analysis of physicochemical character of the bio-oil, the quality of Pinus koroaiensic bio-oil is the best and fit into farther research and application.Evaluated the working principle, construction and performance of the key parts of the fluidized bed system on the basis of problems in fast pyrolysis experiment in this article. Advanced shortage and betterment project, which will offer guide for designing the same sets fitted for the situation of our country.The research of prepare bio-oil by pyrolysising biomass is starting later in China, any type of pyrolysis liquefaction sets are all in researching stage. Many organizations havespread the technology of it to commercialization manufacture in abroad, and have none report about it in our country. Some overseas research results of bio-oil upgrading were introduced, and the prospect of biomass pyrolysis for producing liquid fuel was discussed.
