To meet the urge demand of domestic impeller manufacturer, CAD/CAM softwares for integral impeller are focused on. After conduct the research on the development of the system and correlative techniques in and abroad, CAD/CAM software for integral impeller in 5-axis NC machining is developed. The system is developed using Object-Oriented programming language VC++, and OpenGL code is added to help of three-dimentional graphic displaying.Firstly, based on the requirement analysis, the integral frame is constructed. System is arranged to consist of four modules according to the principle of modulize design such as modeling, tool path generating, post-processing, and dynamic simulating. Then programming tools are determined. Arithmetics and implements of function modules are indicated as follows:In the modeling module, the twist ruled surface formed blade is constructed using B-spline interpolation technique. Diversary kinds of data input is accepted and transformed automaticly. According to this, geometry sculpt is accomplished directly.Tool path generating module is the key part of the whole system, in which the roughing stage is the highlight. The zig-zag and the triangular tool-path generating algorithms are presented using equally layered strategy; meanwhile the direction of cutter axis is determined. It is also introduced in the dissertation that based on the former work in our group about blade finishing; the computing method of tool path planning of 5-axis flank milling NC machining is given.Futhermore, geometry simulating for CL data method is put up through analyzing the process of impeller machining. And it is also discussed the implementation of on-time-control work and dynamic simulating using MFC and OpenGL.Finally, CL data transformed to NC code through post-process. Then the theory and algorithms are proved to be validity through putting the the results into the practical 5-axis NC machining.The system turned out to be extensible and applicable, convenient and automaticly. Therefore, research achievements with theoretical significance and practical value are acquired.
