Along with advance of society and people's standard of living, indoor air quality has been taken more and more into account in recent years. Indoor ornament, air conditioning and central heating system and a wide application of chemical articles in everyday have resulted in serious indoor air contamination. Indoor air pollution have not only destroyed people's living and work habitation, but also threatened human health. Indoor air contamination includes various substance, in harness, taking one with another, the management technique of indoor air pollution is relatively backward in our country, by and large, filtration is one main method. It is important to exploity one new method of according with indoor air purification.TiO2 was used as catalyst in my experiment. By many experiment, I selected activated carbon fibre as carrier, because it had large specific surface area and good sorption capacity. The catalyst was loaded on activated carbon fibre. In indoor air pollution simulator, I studied photo-catalytic oxidation of NOx, SO2, and VOCs gas. Optimizing TiO2 material and reaction condition increased the photo-catalytic oxidation efficiency.Imitating indoor climate, I factured one indoor air pollution simulator, in it, the roles of reaction conditions such as concentration of reactant, gas velocity, illumination intensity, humidity and oxidant were studied. It was found that H2O2 hastened the reaction energy. A processing rate more than 90% could be obtained when the photo-catalytic reaction was carried out at room temperature and atmospheric pressure and at a wavelength of 254 nm ultraviolet lamp. It was also to study the service life and renovation process of the catalyst. It was found that catalytic activity of the catalyst could be resume by exactitude regeneration.At last, improving the foregoing experimental equipment, I devised a new indoor air purifier. TiO2 is of high photo-activity and stable nature, and it is abundant to be obtained at low cost. It could be used to clean the air in residence, supermarket, hotel and museum and etc.
