Abstract/Summary:
Nitrogen oxides are detrimental to plants and animals and react corrosively with many materials through acid deposition. Once in the atmosphere, the NO is bombarded by UV radiation and reacts with oxygen to form ozone and smog.;In this study, nitrogen oxides were photooxidized by using Degussa P25 titanium dioxide. The effects of space velocity, process gas temperature, relative humidity, and light intensity were studied. The spent catalyst was analyzed by the Alltech Universal Ion Chromatographic System, HACH 3000 photospectrometer, and ATI Mattson FTIR. A set of schemes for catalyst recovery is proposed.
