Focusing on the environment protection & energy saving reconstruction project to 60kA Soderberg cell of Aluminium Smelter of Shandong Aluminium Co., Ltd., this article discussed the technology innovation & application of 200kA pre-bake cell used in the technology reconstruction project. Detailed discussions were specially made on the technology design, the selection of the technical parameters in production process and the operation technology of the 200kA pre-bake cell. It researched the innovation technology and practical application of 200kA pre-bake cell, summarized the current adding through, baking, start up technology of 200kA pre-bake cell. Production practice & smelter process designing calculation proved that the whole potline is stable and reliable, running with advanced technological & economical parameters; therefore the target and task of the research on the innovation & application of 60kA Soderberg cell technical reconstruction technology were fully realized.The research to 200kA large pre-bake cell technology innovation & application, integrated domestic advanced pre-bake cell technology and production technology, applied advanced physical field design, narrow working area technology, scientific anodes lifting technology, advanced integrated dense phase conveying system, optimized the cathode busbar distribution, applied improved ship-style cradle cell container frame, side liner material composed by Si3N4 & SiC complex. At bottom and bottom side of the cell, the refractory bricks and alumina layer, side refractory flurry were replaced correspondingly by dry anti-penetration material and new low moisture anti-penetration casting material. Mechanized special assistant lifting system was used to lift anode busbar. Production technology applied modern fuzzy connection, coke granule baking, high molecule ratio cryolite loading, liquidmethod no anode effect start-up, delayed anode exchange at the late start-up stage, etc.Production practice proved that the 200kA pre-baked potline has current efficiency above 94%, 5% higher than that of the 60kA Soderberg cells, direct current electricity consumption per unit of primary aluminium of 13250kwh/t-Al, 850kwh/t-Al lower than that of the 60kA Soderberg cells. Its general AC electricity consumption per unit of aluminium ingot is 14100 kwh/t-Al. Emission of all kinds of pollutions is in the limit of GB/6297-1996—the general emission standard for the pollution to the air, with the gas collection rate of 99%, powder cleaning rate of 99.99%, plus the zero emission of fluoride gas.The technology innovation & application of 200kA prebake cells by the smelter of Shandong Aluminium Co., Ltd., expanded the aluminium capacity from 55,000 MT to 75, 000 MT.
