The comminution of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is one of the most important methods of the modernization of Chinese traditional medicine, The comminution equipments of TCM are made according to ore's comminution equipments. In course of comminution, They have many disadvantage such as the high consume of energy,the low using rate of energy,the serious pollution cause by the metal. One of the main reasons that lead to such disadvantage is that does not separate some granularity up to grade in time during the course of comminution. For improving rate of comminution,achieving the modernization of TCM, We must research and develop TCM comminution equipments that have classification function according to the physical character of the TCM. According to the theory of gravitational airflow classification, There-dimensional wire reticulation board and leve jet board are designed. Using typical rhizomatic traditional Chinese medicine—glycyrrhiza, some classification experiments are done for those kinds of board.Based on the results of experiments, we select the most seemly board—there-dimensional wire reticulation that has low consume of energy, high effecty of classification. we do next experiments about there-dimensional wire reticulation. educe the equation about classification granularity and critical velocity of gas. Using the equation,nomally we can calculate corresponding velocity of gas according to granularity of the manufacture.But the experiments proved:The velocity of gas calculated by experiential equation can't achieve the good rate of classification.Because it has many reasons that affect rate of classification.If we confirm the configuration of the classifier,There are four main reasons that affect the rate of classification such as velocity of gas,tiers of reticulation,time of classification and different quantity of materiel. Orthogonality experiment are done combined efficiency and precision of classification to gain the best parameters at different granularity . Operational parameters are offered for comminution equipment we designed.
