| Polyetheretheralkone(PEEK) is a new semi-crystal thermosplastic polymer with a unique combination of excellent physical and mechanical properties, high continuous working temperature, excellent chemical resistance, good radiation resistance, outstanding wear and fatigue resistance. Polyetheretherketone composites need to be reinforced by fibre, particle or organic blends to futher improve its integrated performance,fibre reinforcement is one of the most important way to enhance its property. Machining is often needed after fibre reinforced composites is formed, however hard wild phase which exits in composites makes machining difficulty, tool wears intensely, surface precision and quality is difficult to ensure. In this paper short fibre reinforced PEEK composites is studied, compression molding of making GF/PEEK ,CF/PEEK and M-HOS/PEEK composites is got through a lot of forming experimentation, the mixture is heated to 360℃, pressurized to 8.0MPa, held there for 30 minutes , then cooled to 100℃ in the mold。 This paper investigates tool abrasion and machine quality (hole wall roughness Rz, error of pore diameter △ D, error of roundness B and height of burrs H) affected by kinds of fibre, content of fibre,cutting parameter and tool material on the base of drilling M-HOS/PEEK, GF/PEEK and CF/PEEK composites. The research indicates that tool abrasion drilled with Cemented carbide bit is smaller than drilled with high-speed steel bit and TiN coated bit, the value of Rz, △D, B and H of drilling M-HOS/PEEK, GF/PEEK and CF/PEEK composites with Cemented carbide bit is respectively lower than drilling with high-speed steel bit and TiN coated bit .The cutting performance of M-HOS/PEEK and GF/PEEK is better than CF/PEEK. Finally the error of pore diameter △ D and error of roundness B is taken as invesgate object, Multi-element orthogonal Polynomial regression is used to optimize cutting parameter of 30%M-HOS/PEEK,30%GF/PEEK and 30%CF/PEEK. The non-linear relations between the error of the pore diameter △ D,the error of roundness B and main shaft speed n,feed f is achieved, then the optimal cutting parameters is gained. |
