In this paper, the Ni-badsed alloy coating and Ni-based alloy/B4C coating have been obtained by laser cladding. The microstrcture, element distribution and phase constition have been analyzed with the aid of XRD, SEM and EMPS methods. In addition, the hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of coating were investigated and compared. And the mechanism of B4C enforcement was expatitated. The results showes that laser cladding parameters have geat impact on the microstrcture , macro-configuration and the capability of the cladding layers. Due to the fuction of second phase and solid solution of B4C ceramic particles, the microhardness and wear resistance of NiB4C coating are better than that of the Ni60 coating. And the corrosion resistance of NiB4C coating is nearly as same as that of the Ni60 coating.
