From the view of chromatics, initial research on the quality observation and evaluation method of rainbow holographic paper is mainly performed in this paper, and substantive achievement is achieved thereafter.Of the now quality confirmation system of rainbow holographic paper, some of the special parameters that matters a lot to the quality judging procedure only have limited use to related companies especially those package converters. Thus, a more practical way is in urgent need.Considering the special feature of rainbow holographic paper's color change with the inspecting angle changed the thought to establish a quality-judging system on the basis of chromatics is to be developed.After a thorough investigation into the manufacturing process of rainbow holographic paper and a clear understand of the microstructure of the holographic paper is demonstrated by implementing an experiment. With the aid of X-Rite MA68II (Multi-Angle Spectrophotometer), chromatic data of samples is collected and used to develop specific parameters and weight value is given for the five color difference respectively. New concepts like color deviation, integrated color difference and color difference matrix are developed and later used as parameters in the quality observation and evaluation system established on the basis of chromatics, which is proved to be operational after stressing verification tests.
