NiMo nitride catalysts supported on MCM-41 have been obtained throughimpregnation methods and the temperture-programed reaction with gaseous ammoniaThe catalyst was characterized by XRD, BET, XPS, TEM. These results showed thatmolybdenum nitride and NiMo nitride in the materials are carried by MCM-41 andthere are three chemical states for Molybdenum in the catalyst and the BET surfacearea, pore volume of the catalysts are smaller than MCM-41. Thiophene HDSexperiments demonstrate that the catalyst carrying Ni(NiO) 6% and Mo(MoO3) 10%has the highest conversion and high sulfur resistanse, the activity is improved with theincrease of temperature or pressure and the decrease of mass hourly spacevelocity(mhsv). The experiment of RP-3 hydrodesulfurization supports that the catalytic activityis like thiophene HDS experiments. The increase of temperature or pressure and thedecrease of mass hourly space velocity improve the activity.
