Petroleum hydrotreating technology is the essential means of petroleum productsrefining, quality improving and heavy oil processing. Hydrotreating refining caneffectively hydrotreat the non-hydrocarbons in the stock oil, such as sulphur, nitrogen andoxygen, make olefins and arenas saturated selectively and remove impurities as metal andasphalt. PetroChina Jinzhou Petrochemical Company produces aviation keroseneapplying argil as refining catalyst with annual capacity of 120 thousand tons. It can notadapt the production requirement as the process applied has inadequate capability toremove the impurities such as sulphur and nitrogen, and its straight run aviation kerosenedistillation range is very narrow with the maximum temperature up to 200℃. Also theprocess with argil as its catalyst can not treat heavy fractions and high sulphur andnitrogen content aviation kerosene, which restricts to improve the yield of light qualityproduct. It is necessary to project a set of aviation kerosene refining plant to meet theneed of annual crude oil processing capacity of 5500000 tons as well as the increasingdemand of aviation kerosene market.The new designed plant can produce aviation fuel according to No.3 Jet FuelStandard with annual capacity of 400 thousand, taking the mixtures of straight runfractions as feedstock from Daqing and Liaohe atmospheric No.1 Line oil by the ratio 1:2,applying currently mature process of before furnace mixing hydrotreating refining toreduce the severity of the heater operating conditions. It takes the hydrotreating catalystand process developed by , whose catalyst applies low temperature liquid phasesulphurization using carbon disulphide. The regeneration of catalyst is nitrogen recyclingin the reactor. This plant adequately utilizes the existing facilities and investment is low.Advanced chemical process flow simulating software PRO/II system is used to simulatethe whole process, determine appropriate operating parameters, and ensure the relianceand economic operation.
