Manufacture of synthetic fibers began in 30s last century. With the reformation of new technology, there is a rapid increase in yield of filaments and also there is a wide application in every field. But due to bad hygroscopicity, sanitary property and bulk of synthetic filaments and its products, the application of synthetic fibers is limited. Most of shortcomings can be improved by chemical modification and texturing process.Textured process can make to modify morphological structure of filament yarn changing uniformity, stiffness, strong glitter in former filament which will be similar with staple fiber yarn. Recently, there is a little index to evaluate the morphological structure of textured yarns. Practical analysis and testing system of textured yarn's morphological structure isn't perfect. So the development of textured technology is blocked by all the reasons mentioned above.The main object of this thesis is to bring forward characterization systemsuitable to textured yarns and to widen adjustability of the system applied to estimate morphological structure and quality of textured yam. The outline of the thesis is as following:CD The basis of generalizing testing theory and testing method of yarn's bulk, EIB method was chosen to measure 4 category (34 kinds) yams. In this method, d,D> Ttex were used as basic parameters and 5 bulk index B> Bi > B2> vi ^ v2 were employed to estimate bulk of yams. After experiments, the basic scope of different kinds of sample yarns in bulk property, the ranking of yarn bulk, and its decisive factors have been got.(1) Based on summing up the testing theory and testing method of changes in yam diameter, photoelectricity image method was applied to measure and analyze 4 category (11 kinds) yams. CV% of yarn, distribution of diameter, morphological graph of yam have been closed as parameters to evaluate structure of yams. With the data, we concluded that diameter diversification of air-jet textured yam is similar to cotton or wool yam with the same linear density.(3) Refering to luster testing theory of fabric, 4 category (11 kinds) yams have been tested on GP-I. Peak value reflectance, width of peak, general reflectance and diffbsivity, relative brightness were used to assess yarnluster character. Then luster and reflectance curve of different yams have been gained.? After analysis of several testing method to measure bending rigidity, 3 category (17 kinds) yarns were measured on KES-F-2. Values of yam bending rigidity, and order of bending rigidity for different yams have been found and effecting factors of yam bending rigidity also has been proved.At last, with a certain discussion of testing method of yam hairiness, microscope method and EIB photoelectricity method were used to measure 3 category (17 kinds) yams. A conclusion have been got that false twist yam has no hairiness structure. Furthermore, distribution curves of yam hairiness (loops and arcs) presents exponent function. Effecting factors of yarn hairiness have been got.
