With the rapid development of computer technology and more and moreintense market competition, people's requirements of bar improve increasingly, suchas size accuracy, mechanical capability, production quality, manufacturing cost andinnovation cycle. By using computer simulation technology, the whole progress of barrolling, the manufacture possibility prediction and production precision become thenecessary measures to enhance the marketability itself. Through CAD/CAM, we canoptimize the pass design parameter, technics parameter and equipment parameter todirect the production of bar and the design and process of equipment, furthermore, toreduce waste in test, save energy, and satisfy a strict requirement for the sizeaccuracy and mechanics properties. The research about the system of passdesign, rule of deformation, change of temperature and evolvement of metalmicrostructure systematically has become one of the main tends in the theory ofbar rolling.For what has been noted, this paper optimizes the pass system design byusing of the dynamic programming with least dissipation of energy forobjective function based on the research production of the predecessors. At thesame time, a kind of CADS for the pass of bar rolling is developed by the usageof Vb.NET. According to the actual processing conditions, moreover, a seriesof parameter about pass is designed based on this system.In order to research the law of microstructure evolution, this paper does aphysical simulation experiment by using of GLEEBLE-3500 to research 40Cr.In this experiment, it also analyzes the law of static recrystal about the metalhot deformation and builds up the microstructure model. And with the organizeevolvement model gained in the experiment, the analysis model in the metalhot forming is redeveloped by the application of DEFORM. Under the basis ofthe pass parameter which has been done already, this paper builds up the finiteelement emulation model, simulates the whole process of bar rolling, predictsthe temperature field of each pass in the process of bar rolling and thedistribution rule of deformation field and microstructure field, researches thegeometry form and precision of the work piece in each pass.
