Studies Of Clogging Mechanisms By Substrates In The Vertical Flow Constructed Wetlands

The phenomenon of substrate clogging exists during the process of using constructed wetland , which limits the effect of constructed wetland a lot. Nowadays people mostly use the anticipation to solve the problem of substrate clogging. While after the clogging has happened, there is no a good way except replacing the substrate. But this solution takes a lot of work and money, what's even worse is it can totally destroy the microbe system which has already formed stably in the wetland.It has become the key topic of wetland study about how to solove the above problem. In this paper, I focus on the essence of the substrate clogging of the wetland-the descreasing of the size of substrate pore, start to study the principle of the substrate clogging of the wetland, and supply a powerful basic theory of managing the constructed wetland and preventing the substrate clogging of the constructed wetland.In this paper, I develop the following work based on studying the former achivement:1. choose the vertical flow constructed wetland as the research object, design and build the model of the vertical flow constructed wetland as the research material.2. Find several main factors of causing the clogging through the experiments.3. Proceed the research mainly on those main factors and discuss the principle of the vertical flow constructed wetland.4.Give a conclusion of the mechanisms of the vertical flow constructed wetland associate the main factors of causing the clogging.I get the following conclusion according to the above research: 1 .Present the way of judging the clogging according to the penetration coefficient.2. Find the main factors which causing substrate clogging by experiments.3. The clogging dosen't effect a lot on the microbe system inside the construct wetland but makes the wetlands can not pass the wastewater success.4.The clogging mainly makes the water descrease so that the daily amount of getting rid of the pollution decreases, finally the efficiency of the wetland decreases.5. Temparature if also an important facor of controlling the substrate clogging.6. The clogging of the biomembrane is difficult to preventing. It mainly exists in the upper of thesubstrate, but there is also some clogging in the midder and lower parts.7.The more organic loading cause the deeper degree clogging. The more organic SS loadingcause deeper loading and faster clogging.
