Study On Hybrid Biological Reactor Treating Living Wastewater

There were quite a few problems in the traditional activated sludge processes, such as difficult sludge settling, easy efflux and easily impactive system. To solve these problems, Mulriple Biological Reactor was proposed to keep a high microbial biomass in the system. The PVC stub tube fillers were used as the carriers for the growth of microorganisms in the mulriple biological reactor. The formation of biofilm and the removal rate of organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus in the reactor were studied.The study was divided into several parts: the pilot study of the startup of mulriple biological reactor;the influence study of HRT, organic load and the gas water ratio on the operation effect of the mulriple biological reactor;the pilot study of the nitrogen, phosphorus and suspended material removal. The results of study was as follows:(1) The activated sludge was used to start up the mulriple biological reactor. When the water temperature was about 26 ℃, the COD removal rate was above 95% and the ammonia nitrogen removal rate was above 90% after twelve days. Then the formation of biofilm was finished. The result indicated that the stub tube fillers were the better carriers for the growth of microorganisms and were in favor of the biomembrane formation.(2) The influence study of HRT on the operation of reactor indicated: the organic matter and ammonia nitrogen removal effect were better when the HRT was above 10h. The COD concentration in effluent was less than 80mg/L and the ammonia nitrogen concentration in effluent was less than 6mg/L when the COD concentration in influent was between 480mg/L~600 mg/L and the ammonia nitrogen concentration in influent was between 18mg/L—32 mg/L.(3) The influence study of organic load on the operation of reactor indicated: the organic matter removal rate in the mulriple biological reactor was increasing first, then declining and finally growing up by inches when the organic load was growing from 0.1575kgCOD/m~3·d to 1.375kgCOD/m~3 ·d. The organic matter removal rate in the single activated sludge system was increasing first and then declining, whichindicated that the multiple biological reactor was able to endure high impulsive load.(4) The influence study of the gas water ratio on the operation of reactor indicated: the organic matter removal rate was increased remarkably with the increasing of the gas water ratio when the gas water ratio was less than 4. With the increasing of the gas water ratio, the organic matter removal rate was increased slowly when the gas water ratio was more than 4. When the gas water ratio was 12, the organic matter removal rate was high to 96%.(5) The pilot study of the nitrogen and phosphorus removal under different carbon nitrogen ratio indicated: the nitrogen and phosphorus removal rate were high to 68.5%, 87.5% respectively when the carbon nitrogen ratio was 12 (carbon phosphorus ratio was 120) in the mulriple biological reactor.(6) The suspended material removal rate was remarkable in the mulriple biological reactor. The SS concentration in the effluent was less than 45mg/L when the SS concentration in the influent was between 130mg/L~190mg/L.
