Colloid electric double layer structure and the mechanism of coagulation (DLVO theory) were discussed in the paper. In the coagulation experiment we take acid brilliant scarlet GR wastewater for example, and as for coagulant we use PAC, AS, cationic polyacrylamide (PAM). By analysis of the influence of major variables (ph, the coagulant demand, kinetic energy)on dye removal rate and ζ potential, the mechanism of inorganic and organic coagulant function with colloid was studied. Optimizing the coagulation condition, adsorption energy and constant between dye and coagulant were calculated isoelectric point.1. pH has a critical influence on ζ potential absolute value of ζ potential in alkaline solution is greater than in acidic solution. ζ potential value of raw dye solution is -18.4508mv.2. Best removal effect occur at about ph 10. When PAC concentration is180mg/L the peak removal efficiency is78.55%. When PAC concentration exceed 200mg/L, removal efficiency drop.3. For AS the best removal effect occur at ph about 11. When AS concentration rise from 750mg/L to1000mg/L, dye removal rate increased fleetly, from 8.81% to 33.96%.4. In coagulation, kinetic energy affects dye removal rate and ζ potential.5. Ph10.18, PAC concentration is 4.77mmol/L at isoelectric point ,the corresponding adsorption energy is -20.728kj/mol ,adsorption constant is77.31L/mol...
