Strontium Barium Niobate, Bao.5Sro.5Nb2O6 (SBN50), has been synthesized, for the first time, by the organic gel method of Ba(C03)2 , Sr (C03)2 , and Nb2O5. Powder X-ray diffraction study shows tetragonal tungsten bronze phase formation at 800°C Particle morphology and size of heat-treated powder has been examined using Transmission Electron Microscopy. The particle average size of heat-treated powder is about 40nm. The pellets have been sintered at 1000, 1050 , llOOand 1150°C and at each temperature for 90min, respectively. Effect of temperature on dielectric properties has been investigated. Highest dielectric constant ( ε ) has been observed for the pellet sintered at 1150°C.A variation in Tc from 80 to 85°C has also been observed.Strontium Barium Cerium Niobate, Bao.5Sr0.5CexNb2O6+δ (x=0. 01, 0.02, 0.04), represented by lCeS50, 2CeS50, 4CeS50, has been synthesized, for the first time, by the organic gel. method of Ba(C03)2 , Sr(C03)2 , Ce (N03)3 ? 6H20 and Nb2O5 Particle morphology and size of heat-treated powder has been examined using Transmission Electron Microscopy. The particle average size of heat-treated powder is about 30nm. The pellets have been sintered at 1000, 1100 and 1150°C and at each temperature for 90min, respectively. The sintering temperature is same as that of SBN50 , much lower than that of solid-state route. Effect of temperature on dielectric properties has been investigated.
