The supported nickel catalyst has been long-term used for some hydrogenation technologies, due to its lower cost, easy availability, ideal catalytic activity and environmental benefit. The traditional approach to produce Ni catalysts are mainly, immergence, ion-exchanged, and sol-gel method. Compared with other methods, the sol-gel method has great advantage. Ultrafine supported catalyst prepared by this method are made up with high-uniformity-dispersed.Rubber Antioxidant 4020 is a kind of highly active, low toxicity, solvent resistant antioxidant .Presently the Methods to Synthesize Rubber Antioxidan 4020 by reductive amination is a process with bright prospect. So far as it is concerned, No papers on preparation of Antioxidant 4020 by ultrafine Ni/SiO2 catalyst have been found.This thesis evaluates catalytic activity of ultrafine Ni/SiO2 catalyst in Synthesize Rubber Antioxidan 4020 by reductive amination .Meantime it also researches on prospects of manufacturing process and marketing application of these two products.N-(3-pentyl)-3,4-dimethylaniline is the intermediate of the herbicide. The continuous catalytic hydrogenation process which prepares N-(3-pentyl)-3, 4-dimethylaniline from 3,4-dimethylaniline and 3-pentanone is described. The experiments are performed in a continuous flow fixed-bed reactor. The effects of reaction temperature and space velocity on activity of catalysts are researched. The results show that continuous process of preparing amylamine is reasonable. Catalyst shows excellent activity.In reductive amination, how to avoid to turn ketones into alcohols is one of difficulties in industrialized manufacturing. Concerning this problem, this catalyst has favorable selectivity significantly prior to Raney Ni which is widely applied nowadays.Through studies, applying amination of ultrafine Ni/SiO2 catalyst inreductive amination will have broader prospect of application.
