As far as relaxing methane drainage through surface well is concerned , Based on the law of gas flowing resulted from rock and coal deformation and damage caused by mining protecting strata, Multi-research methods, such as the computer numerical simulation, simulation of similar materials, field research was synthetically used in this paper. The rock strata failure and movment laws and the stress and the deformtion distributing characteristics of the protected strata along with the proteceting stratum mining were found, as can easily been seen from similar material experiment model, the protected coal seam along diretion of mining was sorted as "5 areas ": compressing areas, swell areas, stable swell areas, swell areas, compressing areas.As can be seen from effects of gas drainage from surface gas drainage well, Methane pressure has dropped from 4.5MPa to 0.6MPa, and coefficient of penetrating 1820 times the primitive, methane can be drainaged from surface well for longe time efficiently on the condition of mining protecting strata. Comparing the study results got from numerical simulation, similar materials experiment and field research,These three results consisted with each other.In a word, Results in this paper play a vital role in methane control management.
