To broaden desert shrub new utilizing fields, accelerate desert shrub developing to the direction of high added-value and high benefit, the paper studied on the liquefaction of Salix, Caragana and Poplar in the presence of Phenol under sulfuric acid catalysis. The optimum processing parameters for Salix, Caragana and Poplar liquefaction and resinification were investigated. The effect of molar ratio of formaldehyde to liquefied products and NaOH to liquefied products on the character and glue strength of liquefied products resin was studied. The results showed that:1. Reaction temperature has greatest influence on liquefaction process, the residue of Salix, Caragana and Poplar decreased with the increasing of temperature. With the increasing of content of catalyst, the residue of Salix, Caragana and Poplar all dropped, the residue was lowest when content of catalyst was 7%. The residue of Salix, Caragana and Poplar decreased when liquid ratio added and reaction time prolonged.2. The optimum processing parameters for Salix and Caragana liquefaction is: temperature: 150°C, the reaction time: 120min, liquid ratio (phenol/wood ratio): 4 and catalyst content: 7%, the residues rate of Salix and Caragana were satisfied, 4.08% and 11.21%, respectively. The optimum condition of liquefaction for poplar is estimated: temperature of 150°C, the reaction time of 120min, liquid ratio (phenol/wood ratio) of 3 and catalyst content of 7%, the residues rate is 3.55%.3. FTIR analysis show more active functional group appeared after Salix, Caragana and Poplar were liquefied in the presence of Phenol.4. After ameliorating resinification technology and molar ratio of materials, the characters of liquefied products resin can meet the demands of GB for wood industry.
