With the fast development of agriculture in our country, a large number of pesticides are highly toxic and widely used for insects control in agriculture. However, these pesticides were also released to environment, which polluted soil and did harm to people's health. How to solve the problem has become a public concern. Many studies have shown that carbofuran and its derivatives have toxic, carcinogenic and mutagenic activity to animals and humans. Therefore, it is beneficial to study the biological effect of carbamates on soil contamination and study their degradation characteristics not only for the development of index of biological assessment for these organic pollutants but also for the understandings of their changes, transformation and fates in soil environment, and the strategies for bioremediation of polluted soil. The experiment took Chinese tropical type soil—Granitic latosol (Hainan province) as experimental object and systematically researched the effects of insecticide carbofuran on soil microorganism and four soil enzymes, and researched its degradation course in latosol. The main results of the experiment are as follows:1.The results indicated that the population of bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes were reacted differently with the level of carbofuran increased in latosol comparing with control soil(without carbofuran): They were all most sensitive to carbofuran which level is 5mg/kg; The effects of carbofuran on the population of bacteria were complex, it was obviously that the difference of trend of increase of bacteria treated with different carbofuran level was inhibited or activated in different time, but it was no distinctly during the whole culture time; Actinomycetes were prone to adapt environment that treated with carbofuran and the effects of carbofuran on them did not appear noticeable difference from 1st to 49th days. However, fungi were almost inhibited during the whole experiment.2.The study showed that the effects of carbofuran on different soil enzymes appeared to remarkable difference in latosol comparing with control soil (without carbofuran): the activity of hydrogen peroxidase was always activated by carbofuran during test time, and the effects of activation treated with low carbofuran level(5mg/kg) was more powerful than...
