Preparation Of Colorless Camellia Oil

Camellia Oil is one of the woody oil, milled from tea plant. It has similar physical and chemical characteristic with olive oil, applying to cooking oil, medical oil and cosmetic oil; The color of medical oil and cosmetic oil were specified for color and fatty acid composition.Colorless is difficult for using traditional refining method, there is no report on preparating colorless camellia oil.This research studied refining methods to get the best process for producing colorless oil from crude camellia oil.Quality of oil was an important factor impacting on preparing colorless oil.Fatty acid compositions were Oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid and Stearic acid,analyzed by GC. Content of most fatty acid were more than 3%,80.01% of the fatty acid was unsaturated,linoleic acid occupied 73.92%, which was the highest. 19.98% was saturated fatty acid,palmitic acid occupied 13.28%,the other fatty acid were myristic acid and dodecyl acid, 1.23% and 1.58% respectively,fitting to the demand of oil used for cosmetic and medical.Oil color was measured by WSL-2 colorimetry.Color of camellia oil was influced by oil quality and refining process. Comprehensive new method was utilized in decreasing color of crude camellia oil in the research,such as biological technology , membrane technology , alkali deacidfication and absorption methods. Absorption bleaching was carried by CCD test,using dosage of bleaching agent , reaction time, reaction temperature as factors,analyzed by SAS software,matrix of bleaching on camellia oil was:Y=85.47308+3.61305x₁+9.46675x₂-0.75219x₃-3.4444X₁²+1.475x₁X₂+0.12500x₃x₁+0.12500x3X2-7.22653x₂²-5.35316x₃².The research showed: Quality of crude camellia oil:(the density was 0.92g/cm³, the acid value was 1.82mgKOH/g, content of moisture and volatile was 0.2%, peroxide value was 7.5 meq/kg ,iodine value was 78.7 I₂/100g, content of phosphatide was 87.50ppm, colour and lustre was Y30R3.0);Quality of colorless camellia oil refined by comprehensive technology:(the acid value was 0.10 mgKOH/g,content of moisture and volatile was 0.02%, peroxide value was 0.12 meq/kg ,iodine value was 84.3 I₂/100g, content of phosphatide was 3.00ppm,colour and lustre was Y0R0).Physical and chemical indexes of colorless camellia oil reached the standard of oil used for cosmetic and medical.
