Molecular Imprinting Technique (MIT) is becoming increasingly recognized as a powerful technique of preparing synthetic polymers that contain tailor made recognition sides for certain molecules. The process of the preparation consists of: (1) mixing the template molecules with monomers with appropriate functional groups, (2) low temperature and photo polymerization, (3) extracting the template molecules from the polymer, which leaves cavities inside the polymers that are complementary in terms of size, shape, and functional group orientation to those of the template molecules. It has an extensive application in purification, immunoassay, enrichment, biomimics and other relevant fields for its predetermination, specificity and practicability of molecule recognition.A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was synthesized successfully through grafting of molecularly imprinted polymer on silica supports by using Tilmicosin as templates, methacrylic acid as a functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker.
