Currently, most information recording materials for CTP(Computer to Plate) are based on the technology involving chemical reactions. Therefore, these inevitably lead to environmental problems due to the waste liquid related to this kind of process. This thesis was mainly focused on the synthesis and application of a novel kind of core-shell latex particles with hydrophobic core and highly hydrophilic shell in a wish to establish a new thermal imaging material system with chemistry -free after being exposed.Monodisperse core-shell particles were prepared via a three-step one pot method.1. The core latex was made under the control of the concentration of potassium persufate (KPS) mainly as stabilizing reagent except for initiator.2. A ball-shaped core-shell particles were obtained after the epoxy group-containing shell was incorporated surrounding the core mainly under carefully controlled conditions: a unique device was exploited to dropwise and alternately trickle monomers and initiators.3. To amplify the contrast of affinity for water, the shell was modified until it was covered fully with ions. And the affinity for oil of the core was kept.During the above processes, different variables relating to the preparation of the core-shell particles were investigated, such as the temperature, the polymerizing time, the addition of monomers and...
