Recently, the study on ion exchange becomes a hot topic. Just as its name implies, ion exchange means that ions exchange among each other. In last century, people found that water couldn't swill ammonium sulphate out of the soil after the soil absorbing the fertilizer—ammonium sulphate, while more and more calcium sulphate remained in the soil. It was the result of ion exchange. That is to say, the calcium ion in the soil exchanged with the ammonium ion in the ammonium sulphate.After 1940s, ion exchange has been widely used in many technological fields. Especially in recent years, it is a hot topic to manufacture medium light-wave guide on glass pad. Phosphate glass is the ideal material to make high-plus light-wave guide amplifier.
