This thesis analyses the grinding essential factors, grinding force and grinding temperarure which affect the grinding from the background of the technological development in the grinding process of the grinding wheels. It also analyses the menchanical principles in wear of the grinding wheel. After some experiments and deep studing, the main factors which affect the blockage of grinding wheels is found. Theoretical basis for decreasing the blockage of the grinding wheels in the process of wear the grinding wheels is provided. By using the eddy principles to measure the depth and area of the metal blockage on the grinding wheels, by using the grinding wheel blockage instrument as a tool and by means of orthogonal design experiments, the blockage of grinding wheel for plunge grinding and longitudinal grinding, and the effect of coolant on blockage are studied. After some experimental analysis, some conclusion has been foud. Under the condition of plunge grinding, the depth and area of blockage decrease with the increasing of feeding speed. The smaller the feeding speed is, the bigger the blockage depth and area are. For longitudinal grinding, dressing speed is the biggest influence factor on the depth and area of grinding blockage. When the coolant is provided enough, the ability for holding chips of the grinding wheel will be rapidly increased, the durabilityof the wheel will also be relevantly improved. This conclusion provides theoretical basis for grinding process to decrease blockage of grinding wheels.
