Nonylphenol is an important raw material and intermediate in fine chemicals realm, its major use is for the manufacture of nonylphenol ethoxylates which is widely used in various branches of industry as non ionic surfactants. This paper was done for the capacity expansion of a nonylphenol plant. Detailed and extensive literature review was made. The study fruit of formers was summarized including its properties and usage , consumption market situation , production technology and situation both at home and abroad, the process and research development in China. On this foundation taking oligomers separation and phenol alkylation as the point , the following works were done: detailed study of process simulation , system sensitivity analysis , optimization of separation sequence, experiment research of phenol alkylation and dinonylphenol dealkylation reactions and the catalysts sieve.Nonylphenol is usually produced by alkylation of nonene and phenol in presence of catalyst, and nonene is obtained from propylene oligomerization. So the nonylphenol production process includes two steps: propylene oligomerization and phenol alkylation. UOP and ICSO process is the typical propylene oligomerization process. Upon the catalyst, phenol alkylation process includes: activating clay method, boron trifluorides method, para-tolene sulphur acid method, ion exchange resins method. Currently the most advanced production process is by alkylation using nonene and phenol in presence of cation exchange resin as catalyst. This paper summarized the summary , development, description and calculation method of separation sequence synthesis. Simulation and optimization were done for the oligomers separation system using...
