Vicia-icronucleus test is applied in most fields, as a detecting means. General situation of micronucleus, emergence and development of Vicia-icronucleus test, and its application were summarized, which would help some scholars understanding the technique generally.In order to prove up the influence of Cd2+ towards chenghu14, germination of seed, growth of the root, cell mitosis, chromosomal aberrations and micronucleus were researched. The results showed that when seeds were treated with cadmium, there was no significant influence on the germination percentage of seeds. When poisoned time was above 48h, the germination percentage of seeds was no long increasing. When the concentration of cadmium was below 10umol/L, the growth of the roots and the mitosis indexes of the root-tip cells increased, If cadmium concentration was above above-mentioned concentration, the growth of the roots and the mitosis indexes of the root-tip cells reduced. With the increasing of cadmium concentration and poisoned time, the inhibited effect were both enhanced. When the concentration of cadmium was 1000μmol/L and the poisoned time was 96h, the length of the roots and the mitosis indexes of the root-tip cells became 60.78% and 25.07%, which was the minimum respectively compared to the contract test.
