Objective: To study on the pharmacodynamics of Compound Huzhang Fengfang Spray (CHFS), which was a preparation of modern compound Traditional Chinese Medicine for curing second degree and small area third degree burn. Methods: The optimum extracting procedures of Polygonum cuspidatum and Nidus vespae were selected by orthogonal test design. The guide component of Polygonum cuspidatum or Nidus vespae was determined by HPLC or UV method. Screening the dosage of the single medical material and the compound preparation, the optimum prescription was obtained. Designing the per-cutem osmosis test, the osmosis process of CHFS was understood. Using Burn Spray (BS) as the contrast, experiments of Dimethyl Benzene-induced acute mouse ear oedema and egg-induced paw oedema in rats for anti-inflammatory, hot plate test and writhing test in mice for analgesia, the plate method and the tube double dilution test for anti-bacterial, deep second degree and small area third degree burn wound healing in rats and hydroxyproline (Hyp) determination were designed. By those CHFS was studied on its main pharmacodynamics.Results:①The optimum extracting procedure of Polygonum cuspidatum was A3B2C3D1, i.e. extracting with 20 times ethanol (95%) 3 times for 3 hours.②For Nidus vespae the optimum extracting procedure was A2B2C3D2, that is, extracting 3 times with 20 times water for 4 hours, and the extract was concentrated and precipitated by adding ethanol to concentration of 60%.③The optimum prescription of CHFS was Polygonum cuspidatum 0.10 g·ml-1, Nidus vespae 0.10 g·ml-1 and Borneolum Syntheticum 0.5%.④The skin accumulation was 3.99 times...
